Elisha Adam Euless from Tennessee probably had no idea that the 170 acres he purchased in 1867 would become a thriving community named in his honor. He built a community center and produced cotton on his land. The population of Euless in 1915 was a mere 25. The Fuller House and Himes Log Cabin offer a taste of Euless' history to residents. The Fuller House, the town's first brick home, was built in 1932. The Himes Log Cabin is even older. It was built in the 1850s and possesses gun ports on its walls, which were used when locals encountered Indian attacks.
A plethora of classes are available at the Midway Recreation Center. Youths can participate in a range of activities including fencing, Taekwon Do, crocheting and tumbling. Adult activities include aerobics, salsa dancing, Tai Chi and weight training. Residents fish at the pond at Wilshire Park. This park also has a walking trail and is home to one of the city's swimming pools. Anglers can journey to other area lakes including Mountain Creek Lake, Grapevine Lake and Lake Arlington.
Arbor Daze, a carnival featuring entertainment, and the Christmas Parade of Lights are two of the city's most popular annual events. Euless' ideal location in between two of Texas' metropolitan hubs and its strong economic core make it an ideal hometown for families and businesses alike.
